Shipito offers a way to control your client account using an Application
Programming Interface (API) for 3rd party developers.
An API is an application program interface, which is a set of routines,
protocols, and tools for building software applications.
With our
API, you can now integrate Shipito into your own e-commerce
solution and be able to operate more efficiently (for example, if
you are high volume shipper, or if you want to create your own
mobile application to offer to other clients)
Our API contains methods for working with packages, consolidations, mailing out and reporting issues, and for making special requests.
If you are a software developer and you are interested in access to our API, please send us email at api@shipito.com with a brief description about the intended use, and we will give you access.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an API?
An API is an application program interface, which is a set of routines,
protocols, and tools for building software applications. It
is a good option especially for those that have a high
number of packages shipped, or to run your own
business.
An API can be a big help, especially to developers that need, for
example, to connect a Shipito account with an online shop,
phone/tablet apps, etc.
It can be applied to the main
operations that you have on your account, such as working with
packages, consolidations, mailing out and reporting issues, and
special requests.
Are there new features compared to a classic client
account?
No. All of the functions are the same. The only difference is
that the API can be called by different software, so you can integrate
Shipito into your business system.
Can I develop a mobile application with this API?
Yes, you can. We didn’t set up any limits for mobile
applications, so everyone can develop a mobile application
and publish it to a mobile store.
Do you have plugins for other software? For
example, a plugin for e-commerce solutions, like OpenCart or Magento?
No, unfortunately we do not have any extensions to existing
software. But you can create some and publish them under your
pricing.
I found a bug. What should I do?
Please
report it to api@shipito.com. We will fix it as soon as possible.
I need an additional new function/action, or an added field in a service
response. What should I do?
Please report it to
api@shipito.com. We will consider your request, and most likely
implement it.
A feature that was previously available is now
renamed, or not available at all
The Shipito API is constantly
under development, and some features may change names, URLs, or
become unavailable completely, while other new features become
available. Whenever possible, we will keep our API backward
compatible. For the current API version, please refer to the API
documentation.

Under no circumstances will Shipito be liable for any direct or indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages (including loss of use, data, business or profits). We may revise these terms, and the most current version will always be posted on our website, so please check it regularly. By continuing to use the API, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree with the revised terms, please stop using the Shipito API.
We reserve the right to deny or revoke access to the API if we believe you are in violation of these terms, or if we think your Shipito API application is bad for either Shipito or Shipito customers.
